Failure to Comply with Bail

If you’ve been released on bail, you are legally required to follow all the conditions of your release order. A failure to comply with bail—also known as a breach of bail—is a serious criminal offence under the Criminal Code of Canada. This can include missing a court date, failing to follow a curfew, contacting someone you’re prohibited from seeing, or not residing at your approved address.

These charges are often laid even when the breach is minor or unintentional. Unfortunately, the courts treat them very seriously, as they suggest non-compliance with the justice system.

At K Deol Law, we know that every situation has context. We fight to have non-violent breaches resolved without jail time or additional charges where possible. We also assist in negotiating reasonable bail terms to avoid future violations. If you’re charged with breaching bail, call us immediately—we can help protect your freedom and defend your side of the story.
